Impress Dispute Resolutions (IDR) is a new out-of-court dispute settlement body, certified in Ireland to review content decisions made by social platforms. I was brought in to design and build its website ahead of launch, working from client-provided copy, brand materials and content structure.
How do you make a new organisation feel established online from day one?
IDR had no existing digital presence, so the website needed to introduce an unfamiliar organisation while making a large amount of information feel clear and approachable.
The challenge was less about defining what IDR should say, and more about deciding how its existing material should become a coherent digital experience.
the analysis
I started by working through the supplied content and structure to understand the different types of information the site needed to accommodate.
The material ranged from general information about IDR through to audience-specific guidance, legal information and the complaint process. Rather than treating these as separate page designs, I looked for a visual and structural system that could hold all of them together.

The existing brand provided a starting point, but it needed to be translated into something that worked across a website: typography, colour, components, hierarchy, spacing and interaction.
the design
I developed the visual direction for the website and turned it into a reusable component system for the build.
This included page layouts, responsive behaviour, buttons, cards, content blocks, journey components and the different patterns needed across the site’s informational and complaint pages.

I then built the site in WordPress, implementing the approved designs rather than handing over static screens. This allowed the component system to be tested and refined directly in the browser as the site came together.
Accessibility was considered throughout the implementation, including heading structure, form markup, focus states, target sizes, colour contrast and behaviour without JavaScript.
The final site launched on 8 September 2026, giving IDR its first public-facing digital presence.
what's next?
The initial website establishes the visual and technical foundation for IDR as the organisation begins operating.
As the service develops, the site can grow with it — including more information about case outcomes, expanded platform and language coverage, additional guidance and the claimant and decision-maker areas currently outside the initial scope.
